After our hookup is there any chance for something more?

Long story short, I recently met a guy at a party and ended up going back to his place and we hooked up. We exchanged numbers and we've talked extensively every day since it happened. He asked me out (on what I ume would be a date) and he hasn't brought up the possibility of us having again since that day. When I invited him out with some friends he said he'd love to. However, he rarely becomes flirty when we talk (through texts). I feel like there could be potential here but I'm not sure if it's possible due to the way we met. Any opinions?
