Horse jumping advise?
she's jumpy because you are. if you got lessons and learned how to do it from a professional trainer/riding instructor you would be more confident and she would feel that and would respond accordingly. horses vision goes away in a cone shape from their head out 4 ft. so when horses come up to a jump, they see it coming, coming, coming and then suddenly it's gone! so when she's going over even those small jumps that's a HUGE leap of faith she's putting in you. there should ideally be a trust between the horse and rider that are jumping in the way that the horse trusts the rider to tell them WHEN and WHERE to jump and the rider trusts the horse not to refuse and dump them. good luck!
