Why cant things be just like they were in the 40s?

we had a lovely time in those days, nobody locked their doors and we used to have a jumble sale every weekend. the vicar was a lovely chap and our Doctor was lovely even though he was a darkie. but nowadays everybody seems to be running riot, these blooming immigrants shouting their bleeding mouths of and living on the dole......why oh why cant we go back to the 40s
