How do I politely tell a rapture believer that I have had enough of his lectures?

My father-in-law talks constantly about how we are all going to die soon and how great it is! He does it in front of my small children and is scaring them. He is very old and pitiful, but when I tell him to stop he won't, and says he is just worried about our souls. What should I do?
