How to save for a car at 16?

Okay, so i just turned sixteen last week and i got my permit. As of right now im driving my moms durango until i get my licence which i am hoping to have a car (6-10 months for the car). Im getting a new job within a week i need saving tips and a good cheap, reliable, safe car. I was thinking honda civic. Please help, thank you guys!
