Get an alphabet set that can be handled, touched, felt... he needs to FEEL the letters in his hands instead of just seeing them. Also realize that this process can take years, but at least you can get him started. You will need more letters than just the alphabet by itself, so you might need more than one set of letters. Tactile learning might work vastly better to teach a dyslexic how to spell than rote memorization. Good luck.

Well, several months ago, my father called me up, and offered me to talk to my old babysitter (one of the two abusive women), and I refused. She hurt a lot of kid's feelings, and Hurt me physically. Now that I know my father still has contact with one of the two people, I'm planning on learning everything I can about the law, and coming back at the age of twenty-six to legally punish my former abuser as an attorney, and hopefully, if anyone is still suffering from the tyranny of these two women, I plan on making it illegal for these adults to continue supervision of any child ever again. I remember the way they hurt me, and if I can still save other kids from suffering the same hell, I'll try. How do I fix wiper motor switch in 93 civic?

My 1993 honda civic recently had the heater core replaced(by me) and now that its all put back together the wipers will not turn off, or change speeds regardless of the wiper intermittent switch position. Two months ago I took in a small mixed breed puppy that a friend was going to take to the pound because he could not get him potty trained. I figured he wasnt trying hard enough and so we took him in. she's jumpy because you are. if you got lessons and learned how to do it from a professional trainer/riding instructor you would be more confident and she would feel that and would respond accordingly. horses vision goes away in a cone shape from their head out 4 ft. so when horses come up to a jump, they see it coming, coming, coming and then suddenly it's gone! so when she's going over even those small jumps that's a HUGE leap of faith she's putting in you. there should ideally be a trust between the horse and rider that are jumping in the way that the horse trusts the rider to tell them WHEN and WHERE to jump and the rider trusts the horse not to refuse and dump them. good luck!

It seems you're a Marvel fan and I've got no problem with that coz' I also love Marvel characters but my favorite comicbook villain would be from DC comics which would be the Joker. Why? Because he doesn't need super powers to fight and outwit Batman and at times he psychologically manipulates Batman (even if Bruce Wayne's a genius) to his twisted crimes. So I have been friends with this kid for about 6 years and he is not the coolest i am nice and caring, i met a new group of friends throughout 5th and came rreally close with them in 6th and so did he but the bad thing is they changed me a bit but he changed to, so one day i send him an email with a funny APPROPRIT pic. he said "Stop or i will report you to spam" and then i said what is wrong with you lately? then he replied that i was a terrible friend ( which i never was i was his only best friend and so nice to him) so he was friends with this really other gross kid that is to nasty for words which he would sit with us at lunch then scare my friends away so i asked him not to let him sit there so he also menchined that to and he also said none of my friends will ever stay my friends then i told him he was crazy, then the teacher found out and then he was lieing to her but i just let it go, then one day i went up to him and told him and said this " hey um i would really appriciate if you would stop talking beihide my back its rude!" and he said well i just want to punch you right now (hes scrawny so i wasn'tt scared) i said WELL GO AHEAD YOU DON't THINK I WANT TO, then my friends saved me hahaha then a week later i handed out b-day invites and got pissed off that i didn't give him one so he told the teacher then i pooled him and the teacher both outside and i said, " i did not giv you an invite because were not friends why would i do that?" then at the last week of school, he told the teacher for a stupid reason which was a lie and made my best friend cry over it. so yea now were not friends anymore and i don't mind it... and for some reason hes scared of me, but now i have the best friends ever i could even ask, so i think i took it pretty good, how would you have done or handled this?oh and, the first week of 7th grade i tried to talk to him but he just walked away, now its tward the end of the year and i am getting freaked, he is buying the SAME EXACT close as me, died his hair my color, baught vans like me, wheres black socks like me, now uses a blue gym bag like me, tries to talk like me, its freaking me out! I need healthy and creative meal ideas for my son who is 13 months old.?

Though he is in the 80th %tile for length, he's only in the 22nd %tile for weight even though he eats so much. And because he eats a lot (I really don't know where all the food fits in his body), I want to be sure to feed him healthful things. Aside from packaged baby meals, he eats lunch meat, chicken, mashed potatoes, strawberries, avocado (sometimes), peaches, apples, and tons of bread. 2003 Chevy Trailblazer instrument panel malfunction?

I own a 2003 Chevy Trailblazer which I have been having a problem with since 3 months after I bought it. At first my speedometer would stick and flutter. Unfortunatly it didn't happen consistantly enough where the dealer could diagnosis it. At the begining of this year the gas gauge quit working all together, I took it to the dealer and they stated it was a cluster problem. Over $500 to fix. I am aware that there is a extended waranty being offered to Silverado, Tahoe, Avalanche and Suburban owners on their clusters for this exact problem. Chevy states they have not received enough complaints to include Trailblazer- is anyone else having this problem? Any suggestions on how to best get the word out?

How do you to remove mildew from dark clothes?

When you wash your clothing in the washing machine, along with your regular detergent, add about a quart of regular white vinegar. It is the best stuff. Once I had some bathroom towels that I couldn't bleach and after trying various things, including baking soda (which didn't work one bit) the vinegar was the one thing that worked completely. I use this method all of the time now (my teenage son lets his bath towels get to this condition a lot). Works perfectly.

Oh, those kind of problems can be tough to narrow down. It could be a failing audio jack on the computer. Also, there might be some kind of "input" device enabled (like a mic) that's causing the whine. Try disabling the playback of various audio devices in the control panel and see if that helps any. If you can disable everything and still get the whine, then the problem is the audio jack or with the sound card itself.

Expunged misdemeanor in 2008 but am unsure if I can become a registered nurse?

i got a misdemeanor in 2005 for something stupid but it was expunged from my record in September 2008. After getting arrested for this misdemeanor, i changed my life around - went go grad school and got a Masters degree!! I now want to attend nursing school but after looking up the California Board of Nursing website, it states that people with convictions may not be able to get licensed. So I am unsure if I should even put myself thru the grind of school again because may be turned down. I have never ever been in trouble with the law, except that one time for which I have really beat myself up for. Does anyone know if someone became a nurse after getting any criminal convictions? I tried to call the board but they did not give me any answers. I even told them I can send them the paperwork of my expungement and have them do all background checks on me BEFORE i apply to nursing school but alas, to no avail. especially in docs offices (but not always, last reading was good) I had a nosebleed in my sleep and it was very heavy. It stopped, but that afternoon I had a headache and had no paracetamol, so I took asprin...two hours later my nose started to bleed again, and I was hospitalised as it did not stop for 2 days (a posterior bleed) The doc released me and didnt want to put me onto hypertension medication as I had took the asprin and they think this may have contributed, but to be honest it was a posterior bleed in the morning aswell....I know i need to go and get it checked regularly but I cant seem to control my white coat hypertension......:(

This makes sense as it isn't your dominant leg, however having the power to do the jumps will come from strengthening that leg. You should continue your releves to strengthen the calves. Also work on strengthening your quads and hamstrings by doing leg lifts (with or without weights as you can handle it). Glutes should be worked on as well.

It's a little long so be prepared to read. I'm 17 and I have a lot of problems. I'm very shy and reserved and withdrawn. I may also have social anxiety. As a result, I have no friends. It's not so bad because I love my alone time, but I realized I really do have to depend on people, to a certain extent. I've been getting counselling and she helped realize that. My entire life, I told myself I was stupid and I was bad at everything. Recently with counselling I'm starting to realize I'm probably wrong. How do you deal with flakey friends?

Well, I had a couple flaky friends over the past four years...one smoked pot ALL the time and never came to visit me...I had to visit her if we were to be friends at all. Another friend drank all the time and ditched me at parties to hang out with guys she met. I felt left out for the longest time so tried to create space between the "friends" and myself. I thought that absence might make their hearts grow fonder, but it did nothing. The problem is that I was too willing to give and be generous and they did not have that much of an invested interest in being my friend...they "appreciated" me but it was not worth being reciprocal in the friendship. So I made the tough as nails decision to completely drop both of these girls as friends...but not before telling them kindly and quietly how I was feeling about their treatment of me. They apologized but then went back to being MIA when I was rear ended by a car (not my fault but traumatizing to me and my car!), when I was alone for the holidays, etc. I then learned that they were flakes and that they were doing me no good even during the times they were nice and fun to hang out with. Tell them in a letter or email how you feel but try to stay away from too much emotion...just use facts and state how you feel without getting overheated. You could say how true friendship is about givng and receiving 50/50 from the bottom of your heart...and that friends are "there for each other." But DON"T BE THE VICTIM! It sounds like you are a person with more integrity and should find other activities and new friends. I made the difficult decision to spend the holidays alone b/c it hurt more to hang on to the flaky, non-caring friends than to simply be a loner for a little bit. I bought and delivered Christmas presents to kids in the hospital...I did lots of yoga cles and looked inside myself to find inner love and peace. It hurt not to be around people..to laugh and watch movies...but hanging out with them was a false promise...b/c it was always followed up with not getting invited to a cool party or being forgotten in some way when they find new boyfriends. I would think there would be no problem with you saying something to the mother about the things the 25 yr old is exposing to the 9 yr old, but it kind of depends on the type of relationship you have with the family. Although she may have been watching an educational program, that is still inappropriate for a child to see. As far as the music, that too is inappropriate for a child to listen to. Even though it is just music, the words to matter because children listen and repeat these words, which in this type of music is usually very inappropriate. My nieces, which range from ages 1-11, have heard radio versions of these songs and can repeat many of the words, usually the words which no one would like their child to say. Even the radio versions of these songs are quite inappropriate for children, in my opinion. I would hope the mother of these children would not feel that it is okay for children to be exposed to this, or for her 25 yr old to expose her 9 yr old to these types of things. Good question and I hope you talk to this mother so she can tell her 25 yr old how inappropriate their behavior is.

My horse was trained to ride with no it and bo bridle, not even a hacamore, so they werent taught the correct head carriage. But he needs to secrete some fluids though his liver can't filter it well. He take many medications and been hospitalized twice. But he wants to stay in his office. I know that he's trying hard to fight for his diseases..That's why I'm asking for your help. I don't know how to take care of him. I don't know the right food to give , treatment and therapies.. Because i know for the fact that the connection of his liver, heart & prostate problem is very delicate and If I give something against in his body.. I think it may be worsen. Can Stomach bugs effect people in different ways?

The other day I woke up and the bottom half of my stomach felt uncomfortable (a bit like it does just before you have diarrhea) I felt like this most the day, I didn't want to eat or anything. Then later on that day I felt a bit better. So i went out for a meal with my girlfriend. After my meal I felt awful, My stomach was unsettled, I felt bloated, I felt sick. The unsettled stomach continued for the rest of that night and into the following day, As I didn't feel too bad the following morning I went to work. I wasn't sick and I didn't have diarrhea. About 3 days later, two students at the home i work in started to get a stomach bug and were being sick and having diarrhea. My friends are telling me that it was probably me that started this bug as I went into work with my unsettled stomach, but i find this hard to believe, because I wasn't sick, my stomach just felt unsettled. The two people at work were being sick. Do you think it is possible that this was a bug I had and i have ped it around. Does stomach bugs effect people in different ways?

Kingdom Hearts question!!?

Well, it starts off with a boy named Sora on his island with his friends Riku and Kairi. They are building a ship to get off of that island and explore. While that is happenning, Donald Duck (yes the one from disney, this story has to do a lot with the disney world) goes to see his majesty, the king mickey but instead he finds pluto (his dog) with a letter. After donald reads the letter he informs queen minnie and daisy as well as goofy. The letter said that the stars have been going out (every star is a world so that means worlds are being destroyed) and that the king went to see what's been going on. Donald and goofy go to another world to find the help that the king wanted them to find. More specifically, Leon, Yuffie, Cloud, and Aerith (this game also has a lot to do with final fantasy) The letter also said to find the keyblade master if possible. Then back on the island with Sora a storm comes and Sora goes to the island to save the boats. All these black thingies appear which isn't good. Later he finds Riku and then gets the weapon known as the keyblade which he can use to fight. He also finds Kairi but she suddenly phases through him and Sora must battle a giant black thing. After that he is warped to another world and his island is destroyed. Donald and Goofy just then landed in Traverse Town (the place they need to be at) and start searching for help. Sora then finds Leon and Leon defeats him and brings him back to a hotel room. Leon tells Sora that he is the legendary keyblade weilder and that those black thingies are heartless. Meanwhile heartless start popping around Traverse Town (there are many types of heartless) which ends up to Sora finding Donald and Goofy. They form a trio and travel the worlds helping people and then they finally find Riku, Sora's old friend and they have a battle. Riku has been taken over by darkness and then he dissappears. Kairi is also brought back to life. After that they travel to the final world and defeat the last enemy, Ansem, after that Sora, Donald, and Goofy find the King and riku and they all close the door to kingdom hearts. After that Sora and Donald and Goofy go to Castle Oblivion where the higher they go, the more memories they lose. Then Kairi in his memories is replaced with a different girl known as Namine (haha ironic isn't it). Then to regain his lost memories, Sora sleeps in a pod for a year in which after that starts Kingdom Hearts 2. This is where Roxas comes in. He is sora's nobody from when Sora killed himself to save Kairi. A nobody is when someone dies and the shell of their body becomes a nobody if they have a strong will. If their will is really really strong, then their nobody will look just like the person. Anyway, Roxas has had his memories changed so he thinks he is in some happy wonderland town called Twilight Town. He soon finds out that he is a nobody of Sora (often referred to as halves. One is the half of the other) Sora wakes up and travels the world much more defeating the main enemy, organization 13. At the end he comes to the organization's base world and defeats the final enemy. He also once more finds riku and the king.

I have a phalaenopsis orchid that my friend got me for my birthday last April; it's in a little plastic pot. It hasn't been looking very good lately. My daughter has a nut allergy and I avoid these products when I am aware of the processing. Well, you could start off by cutting up the large potato into "american fries", them being chunked potatoes, seasoning them with garlic, your herbs and spices, such as italian seasoning, lightly, parsley, oregano, and such...to your taste... and putting some er in the pan with them, baking them at 350 degrees for 30 to 45 minutes, until they are oven "fried". You can do a little salsa if you want, throwing in some parsley and put the tomato puree in with the fresh cut up 3 tomatoes, and 2 scallions, dicing each one, throwing in diced onions. You can toast your pine nuts in a skillet, no er or anything, flipping them with the skillet every now and then and then sprinkle on top of the rice, with a little er. You can do just about anything you want with these items. Just wondering if you were going to be adding it to meat or anything or are you a vegetarian?
